Harrison is one of the larger towns in Westchester with an estimated population of 24,150. Along the New Haven Line on Metro North, Harrison is home to one of the oldest train stops in the area. In 1848 Harrison became one of the stops on the Manhattan to Connecticut railroad. Harrison is still home to many Manhattan commuters being conveniently located just 27 miles from Manhattan.

The town offers several different areas and styles of real estate from apartment rentals to large estates. Harrison has become home to many well known historical figures as well as our influential contemporaries. The town of Harrison offers shopping, dining and convenient transportation. The train station located directly across the street from several restaurants, bars and retail stores is always a stop off for commuters on their way home from work. The Harrison Public Library, found just behind the train station ha s been educating the community for years with almost daily Youth Arts programs, computer classes and several book groups for members.

Harrison offers many recreational programs for children and adults, including tennis, golf and lacrosse. The town begins many of these programs when the children reach 1st & 2nd grade and continue on through adulthood. Outside of sports, senior citizens are also encouraged to participate in the community. The West Harrison Group and The Downtown Group meet and allow senior citizens to stay connected to the community through bingo, group discussions, day trips, overnight trips, luncheons, special movie dates and exercise and line dancing classes.

To aid Harrison’s Veterans the town has established an office of Veteran Affairs. Through this office veterans can request assistance in obtaining insurance and schooling benefits as well assure they are receiving any tax exemptions they may be due.

Harrison even has its own radio show, “Harrison Live” Radio Show can be heard on Thursdays on 1460 WVOX at 2:00pm. As Harrison’s motto states… “Harrison...Putting Community First.
